When your friend is living a more exciting life than you are, and it brings him into contact with a few of your plays, which are also living more exciting lives, and which he helped bring into the world:
Thanks to American Theatre for publishing the text of The Moors in the July/ August issue, and to David Adjmi for one of the most enjoyable conversations I’ve had about theatre in a while. The conversation is heavily condensed, so it doesn’t include the part where David and I reminisce about meeting each other in Iowa City, or the part where he gives me a mini refresher on existentialism (“You’re literally coming straight from Camus into this office at TCG.”) Be still my heart.
This one will always be close to my heart.

Flashback to the time Mike Donahue + the Moors company ate 120 chicken wings for the sake of props. It’s a difficult and thankless job, but every time Hannah Cabell dumps out her bone-bucket, I’m thankful for those champions who accomplished it.
